Use a direct Windows connection
UnlockTool runs on Windows. A real Windows computer with a direct USB port is better than a virtual machine — USB passthrough can break the connection in the middle of an operation.
- Use a direct USB port, not an unstable hub.
- Avoid virtual-machine USB passthrough for device work.
- Check the current build before every new installation.
Quick checklist before you start
- Finish pending Windows updates and restart.
- Close other phone tools that may hold USB ports or driver services.
- Create one dedicated folder for the current package and your notes.
- Use a known-good data cable, not a charge-only cable, and keep the device battery at a safe level.
- Check Device Manager before and after connecting, so you can name the entry that changes.
First confirm the tool downloads, extracts, opens and signs in on its own. Do not start a destructive operation while detection is unstable.
Installation steps
- Prepare Windows. Install pending updates, check free disk space and use an administrator account you control.
- Download from the developer site. Save the complete package from file.unlocktool.net to a local folder.
- Check the file. Compare the file’s hash (MD5) with the Hash shown above. Do not run a file that does not match.
- Extract the full archive. Do not run the tool from inside the ZIP or RAR. Keep all files together.
- Review security alerts. Note the detection name and file. Do not switch protection off completely or exclude a whole drive.
- Install the required driver for the device’s brand, chipset and connection mode (see below).
- Launch and sign in. Open the tool with no device connected, confirm the version and sign in.
- Connect in the correct mode. Use a good data cable and check that the expected device entry appears in Device Manager.
The exact model code, chipset and connection mode, firmware or security version (BIT), the operation you need, and the owner's authorization and backup.
Drivers: install only what the job needs
Driver packages change, so download them from the developer file server or the original chipset vendor.

Common questions
The setup will not open.
Check that extraction finished, read the exact Windows or antivirus message, confirm the file came from the developer site and try again from a local folder.
Can I use macOS, Linux or a virtual machine?
UnlockTool is a Windows tool. Use a real Windows computer; virtual-machine USB passthrough often interrupts device communication.
The device is not detected.
Check the cable, use a direct USB port, confirm the device is in the required mode and install only the driver for that mode. Then check Device Manager.
The tool opens but login fails.
Test the developer web login first, then check the licence and the tool version. The login steps are on the troubleshooting page.
